
Cologne sign Bayern Munich youngster Felipe Chávez on loan
Cologne have signed Felipe Chávez on loan from Bayern Munich until the end of the season, the club have confirmed.
Midfielder Chávez, who has one cap for the Peru national team, will move to the Billy Goats for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign before returning to the Allianz Arena.
Speaking upon the announcement of the deal, Thomas Kessler, Cologne's managing director, said: "We are delighted that we were able to convince Felipe with our sporting prospects.
"The aim is to gradually introduce him to Bundesliga level and give him the foundation to establish himself there permanently."
Chávez, meanwhile, added: "I decided to make the move to take the next step in my career. I also want to help the team achieve its goals and be as successful as possible here."
The 18-year-old midfielder recently made his senior Bayern debut against Wolfsburg on Matchday 16 of the Bundesliga, coming on from the bench, and he followed that up with another cameo appearance versus Augsburg on Matchday 19.
He has previously impressed for the U17s, U19s and Bayern II, scoring once in eight Regionalliga Bayern outings this term. He also found the back of the net twice in three UEFA Youth League outings.
He joins a Cologne outfit currently 10th in the Bundesliga, and could make his debut for his new club as early as this weekend when they host RB Leipzig on Matchday 21.
