Bayern made light work of Wolfsburg in what was a milestone match for both Vincent Kompany and Michael Olise, each making their 50th Bundesliga outing. Kompany's men had been in scintillating form, boasting the best record in Bundesliga history after 15 games with 13 wins, two draws and an incredible 55 goals scored. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, were languishing in 14th place with just 15 points - their second-worst tally at this stage of a season.

The hosts took an early lead when Kilian Fischer unfortunately diverted Luis Díaz's dangerous cross into his own net in the fifth minute. It was a cruel blow for the defender, who was making his comeback after a three-month absence. Rather than capitulate, however, Wolfsburg responded positively and drew level in the 13th minute when Dženan Pejčinović finished coolly past Manuel Neuer after being played in by Lovro Majer. The visitors continued to compete well, with Christian Eriksen shooting over, but Bayern gradually asserted their authority and retook the lead on the half-hour mark when Díaz headed home from Olise's pinpoint cross.

Any hopes Wolfsburg had of staging a comeback were swiftly extinguished after the break as Bayern ruthlessly exposed their defensive frailties. Olise extended the lead with a tremendous solo effort in the 50th minute, cutting inside from the right past multiple defenders before curling a sublime finish into the bottom corner. Just three minutes later, the misery deepened for the visitors when Moritz Jenz deflected Olise's cross into his own net to make it 4-1. By this stage, Bayern were in complete control, with Olise hitting the post in the 64th minute after another mazy run.

The floodgates truly opened midway through the second half as Bayern added two more goals in quick succession. Substitute Raphaël Guerreiro, who had replaced Lennart Karl just 10 minutes earlier, made it 5-1 in the 68th minute after being set up by Harry Kane. The England captain then got on the scoresheet himself moments later, curling a spectacular effort into the top corner from the edge of the box. Olise added his second and Bayern's seventh in the 76th minute, calmly slotting home after being played through by Díaz. Leon Goretzka completed the rout two minutes from time, scoring his 50th Bundesliga goal to seal Bayern's biggest win of the season and pile more pressure on struggling Wolfsburg.
