Hamburg clinch the three points!
Right at the death, and Hamburg have a second! The visitors counter, and Andras Nemeth finishes it off to score his first goal for HSV!
Benes and Reis shoot!
A good parry from Kolke thwarts substitute Benes before he keeps Reis low drive out with his foot.
The ball bounces around in the area, but Heuer Fernandes gratefully collects the ball to end the danger.
Hamburg strong at the back
Walter's team are looking resolute at the back as they try to see the game out.

A great opening for Glatzel to put the game to bed, but he gets the timing of his header wrong as it goes wide of the target.

Roßbach sent off
A second yellow card for Damian Roßbach sees him leave the field of play. A blow to Hansa's hopes of nicking a point, you'd think.

Rostock on top!
Another effort for the home side, with Ingelsson forcing Heuer Fernandes into a diving stop. Can they make this pressure count?
This time, Verhoek strokes home via the post, but he is also offside and the goal therefore doesn't stand.
Rostock think they have an equaliser when Svante Ingelsson slots past Daniel Heuer Fernandes, but the offside flag is raised and the goal is chalked off for offside! Should give them belief to keep going, though.
Bakery Jatta gets his head on a free-kick, but can only put his effort over the bar.
Hamburg in control
'Die Rothosen' are starting to turn the screw here, but they need another goal to be able to relax.
Hamburg lead the xGoals
How have Hamburg not scored? First, Kolke makes a save, before another effort is cleared off the line. Then, a combination of Kolke and the post denies Dompe. Still just the one goal in it!

40 minutes for Rostock to find an equaliser
A point for the hosts would see them move three points ahead of the bottom three.
Reis' late first-half strike means HSV go into the interval in front. Walter will be happy, but Glöckner will be eager for his side to show more in the final third as they look to get something out of this match.
Glatzel tries his luck!
Hamburg are looking to extend their advantage before the break as Robert Glatzel fires at goal from an angle. Kolke does well to save, though.
Hamburg in front!
A bit of pinball in the box, and the ball falls to Reis, who slots through Kolke's legs to give his side the lead!

Hamburg looking hungry
Moritz Heyer's measured drive flies narrowly wide of the post. Hamburg looking the most dangerous at the moment!
Jean-Luc Dompe tests Markus Kolke, who makes a solid save.
Both teams are looking to pass the ball and put pressure on their opponents.

On thin ice
Already a yellow for Heyer. Not exactly the best start for the central defender.
John Verhoek fires over the bar from close range as Rostock get their first sighter.
Here we go!

Bundesliga calling for Hamburg?
Today offers the visitors the opportunity to put some distance between themselves and Heidenheim in third. They have won four of their last five games, including a 4-2 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig last time out and, after a five-year hiatus from the top tier, it could finally be their time to return to the elite. Three points here would only help their chances.
Rostock looking for first home win of 2023
Hansa started the new calendar year with a 2-0 away defeat at the hands of high-flying Heidenheim, and they will be eager to get up and running at the Ostseestadion in 2023 against another of the Bundesliga 2's best sides. While they are 11th in the table, they sit just two points above the relegation play-off spot, so a draw or better here would be a huge boost.
