Full-time: Münster 2-2 Dresden

A draw that, in the end, does justice to the course of the match. Münster never gave up and came back twice. We saw 90 minutes of battling here, but the point arguably doesn't do much for either team's cause.

Straight red

Kutschke, who had just come on, catches Hendrix on the Achilles and is sent off.

Neither team are looking to take any big risks now. Fouls in midfield are increasing.

Bünning at the wrong end!

Bolay drives into the penalty area and aims for the far corner. The ball bounces back off the post and hits the helpless Bünning trying to clear as he puts it into his own net now.

No penalty!

The review took some time but in the end there is no penalty. The approaching Batista Meier goes down, but Grill wasn't too late and got a touch on the ball.

Dresden lead again!

And again it's from a set piece. The ball is in the air for a long time from the half-space. Bünning gets a bit leap at the far post and nods it in. Schenk gets a touch but can't make a decisive save.

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals> xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals> goals).
The fact that it's now 1-1 is also somewhat reflected in the xGoals.

Noticeable upswing

Münster continue to make the play. The goalscorer dribbles to the byline, puts the ball across the goal... and Grill manages to clear it with his foot before Batista Meier could tap it in.

First goal of the season

The Dutchman played a major role in avoiding relegation at the end of last season with three goals in the final three matchdays, but this is his first of 2025/26.

Münster are level!

Once again Dresden fail to clear the ball properly. Hendrix is the first onto it, controls the ball with his chest and then volleys into the far corner from left of centre. A well-deserved goal for the hosts.

Rocket!

Dresden can't clear the ball. The new man Vilhelmsson is straight into the action with a drop kick. The shot has good pace on it but flies just over the crossbar!

We're back underway!

Münster make a substitution up front and send on Oscar Vilhelmsson in search of that equaliser.

Half-time: Münster 0-1 Dresden

Dresden lead here somewhat against the run of play. The hosts have had the better chances but have not been able to make them count. But this game is far from over.

Jaeckel with a header

Good free-kick from the half-space as Jaeckel rises high but can't get enough power behind the ball and it bounces wide.
40'

More to come this half?

The match is more or less balanced. Münster are the ones looking to play, but it's Dresden who lead with half-time approaching.

Can't react in time!

Batista Meier is at the far post and heads the ball down, but Schulz doesn't really expect it. He's standing just three metres from goal and can't get his foot to the ball. Best chance for the equaliser!
33'

Quieter spell

Chances are somewhat lacking since the goal. Münster have been looking for gaps, but Dresden are pressing high early on as they did at the beginning and frequently disrupting the passing sequences.

Ball's in the net...

...but Bünning obstructs Schenk as he jumps, before Hauptmann heads the ball into the empty net. The goal is immediately disallowed and the Dresden man booked.

Münster have started in lively fashion

Crossbar!

Dresden lose the ball trying to play out. Lokotosch doesn't hesitate and shoots from outside the box. Boeder gets a slight touch with his leg, which leaves Grill scrambling as the ball clips the top of his crossbar.

Cleared off the line!

Preußen have made their presence felt in the form of youngster Sertdemir. He gets a shot away from a relatively tight angle. Grill can only half-save it, before Boeder clears the ball off the line.
9'

First chance

Fröling is allowed to drift from left to right and is able to deliver a cross from the half-space. Hauptmann is waiting at the far post but can't get enough power behind his header. Goal kick is the result.
8'

No problem for Grill

Batista Meier plays the square pass in front of the goal, but it comes with far too little pace. Grill collects it easily.
6'

Calm build-up

Dresden are allowing Münster to play a few passes from the back before they quickly press forward. It looks like a well-thought-out tactic, but no chances as a result yet.

All the changes

Grill makes his Dynamo debut in goal, Boeder and Bünning form the central defence, Rossipal has recovered and comes in on the left for his first appearance since Matchday 2. Sapina returns after a two-match suspension for a red card, Menzel gets his first start Bundesliga 2 and Lemmer, who has impressed off the bench of late, starts on the right of attack.
camera-photo

Seven Dresden changes!

Three players are out injured (Schreiber, Pauli, Risch), while four more drop to the bench (Amoako, Kammerknecht, Casar, Oehmichen) as Thomas Stamm radically reshuffles his Dresden team. The defence in particular has been completely overhauled, with only right-back Konrad Faber (pictured) remaining from the 3-3 draw with Karlsruhe, including a new goalkeeper, two new centre-backs, a new left-back and two new defensive midfielders.
camera-photo

Scherder and Sertdemir start

The hosts make two changes as Alexander Ende drops Jannis Heuer and Oscar Vilhelmsson to the bench, with Simon Scherder and Zidan Sertdemir (pictured) starting instead. For the latter, who once made three Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen as a 16-year-old, this is his full debut in Bundesliga 2 after three substitute appearances.
camera-photo

Alexander Ende on facing Dresden

"Dresden are a team that repeatedly combine well through the centre. They statistically have the most crosses in the league, and have already been successful with them. They bring a lot of players into the box. That's an aspect that will challenge us."
camera-photo

Thomas Stamm on facing facing Münster

"Münster are a team that has a clear idea on how to create goal-scoring opportunities and are very controlled in possession. For us, it will ultimately come down to two major themes. Firstly, that we're good at winning the ball back, but equally that we can withstand those phases when they are in possession."

Up against former club

Oliver Batista Meier has had three separate spells in Dresden, scoring once in 38 competitive matches for the club.
camera-photo

Last time out

Münster won the teams' last meeting in March 2024, with Malik Batmaz scoring the only goal in a 1-0 home victory. Stefan Kutschke was among the goalscorers in Dresden's last win in Münster - a 3-2 triumph in May 2016.
camera-photo

A second-tier first

Münster and Dresden are playing together in Bundesliga 2 for the first time. So far, there have been 10 competitive matches between them in the 3. Liga and Regionalliga, with Dynamo leading the head-to-head record (five wins, three draws, two losses).
