A hard-fought match ends goalless. Regensburg came to life in the second half, with the woodwork being struck once on each side, preventing goals. Overall, FCK was the better team, but Regensburg defended selflessly and earned their point deservedly.

Balls are repeatedly crossed into the Kaiserslautern penalty area, but their accuracy is still lacking. On the other side, the counter-attack ends with Ache being judged to be offside.

FCK coach Anfang responds to Regensburg's period of pressure, bringing on Klement and Yokota as new additions.

Regensburg are now making the match much more balanced and are repeatedly making their presence felt in attack. Pröger's cross after a solo run is narrowly missed by Ganaus.

After 60 minutes, there is now noticeably more tempo in the game. The match now seems a bit more unpredictable, as the two strikes off the woodwork at the beginning of this half have shown.

The match is now significantly more open, but Lautern remain the better team both with and without the ball.

Dominant Lautern control the match on the Danube, enjoying plenty of possession but not creating too many chances yet. Most of their threats have come from long-range efforts or set-pieces. The bottom-placed Regensburg show improved defensive organisation and have had only one goal-scoring opportunity through Viel.

Overall, the hosts are allowing the slight favourites from the Palatinate very few clear chances. However, this comes at a bit of a cost to their offensive play. That being said, Kaiserslautern are also very solid at the back. This hasn't always been the case recently.

FCK are now repeatedly looking for quick balls to target man Ache, but the Regensburg defence clears resolutely into touch on two separate occasions.

In an intensely contested match with several challenges, both teams are still struggling to involve their quicker players in the game.

For a home team, Regensburg are sitting very deep, which is not surprising after the flood of goals conceded recently. However, they are now managing to win the ball back, with the next turnover resulting in a free-kick from the left half-space.

Hein and Tachie are engaged in intense duels on the right attacking flank for Lautern. This time Hein commits a foul, but he needs to be careful after receiving a yellow card.

FCK are awarded another free-kick from a good position. This time even more central than before.

The first quarter of an hour in Regensburg belongs to the visitors. They have shown better build-up play and have already had the first chance through Ache. So far, however, the match lacks a bit of flow, with several fouls characterising what has been a hard-fought encounter up to this point.

The next yellow card of the match. This time, the recently fouled player becomes the offender. Tachie receives a booking for a challenge on Hein.

In the stands, the travelling fans from the Palatinate are setting the tone. On the pitch, Lautern are also in control. They are awarded a free kick from a promising position, about 25 metres centrally in front of the goal.

This new line-up from the home side appears eager and is putting in plenty of running, but they still seem somewhat disorganised and are losing possession frequently as a result.

Lautern boss Anfang has little reason to make changes, as the performance in the 2-2 draw against HSV was impressive. Nevertheless, there is one alteration to the starting line-up as Abiama replaces Opoku.

Things haven't been going well for Regensburg lately. After four consecutive league defeats, coach Enochs makes four changes. Wurm, Bulic (both making their first start), Ganau and Hein are the new additions.

The Red Devils' only wins against Regensburg was away under Franco Foda in May 2013 (3-1), with Erwin Hoffer, Mo Idrissou and Willi Orban scoring for Lautern.

Regensburg have lost only one of their seven competitive matches against Kaiserslautern. Across six encounters in Bundesliga 2, the Bavarians have recorded two wins, three draws, and one defeat, in addition to winning on penalties at the Betzenberg in the DFB Cup in September 2020.
