Alonso opts to rotate after Schick scored again. The goalscorer comes off, along with Frimpong and Grimaldo, to be replaced by Arthur, Mukiele and García.

The striker picks up a yellow card for his celebration after his fourth goal.

Grimaldo swings a corner in from the right. Schick wins the header in the middle, nodding home from close range against Atubolu. That's his fourth of the night!

Another goal for Schick and another assist for Wirtz. Leverkusen counter quickly; Frimpong plays a cross from the right to Wirtz at the far post. The German touches it down for Schick, who strikes first time, lashing it past Atubolu.

Tella comes off for Terrier in a like-for-like swap.

Wirtz picks the ball up on the right side at the edge of the box. Unchallenged, he whips a right-footed cross into Schick, who rises highest at the penalty spot, winning the header and directing it goalwards, nutmegging the goalkeeper on the way in.

Wirtz and Tella combine well on the edge of the Freiburg box. Wirtz attempts a cross from the left, curling it towards the back post. His cross is a little too close to the goal, however, bouncing off the crossbar before being cleared by Freiburg.

Frimpong crosses into Tella, who lays it off to Schick. He strikes with his left on the volley, but Atubolu makes a good save to deny him.

Wirtz finds the wide man, who has a chance to stretch his legs and run at the Freiburg defence. He strikes powerfully with his left, but the ball flies wide to the left of the goal.

A fantastic passing move from Leverkusen. Grimaldo plays it off the left and into the feet of Palacios, who quickly plays one between the lines and into the box for Wirtz. He feints with his left foot, cuts back onto his right, and dispatches powerfully into the roof of the net from the near post.

A lovely finish to a lovely Leverkusen team-goal. Wirtz spots Schick in space, sending him through down the middle. Under pressure from two defenders and with the keeper coming off his line, Schick remains calm and delicately lifts it over the keeper and into the net with real finesse.

The Frenchman waits at the far post for a cross from the left. He meets the ball with a powerful half-volley, but the ball is stricken into the ground and Atubolu collects it.

Wirtz aims for the left side of the goal, but it's not in the corner and it's at a good height for Atubolu, who dives the right way. Still level here.

Wirtz is brought down inside the box by Dōan and Leverkusen have a spot kick.

Grimaldo takes the resultant set piece from the left, whipping in an in-swinger. Freiburg clear as far as Frimpong, whose shot from the edge of the box is well over.

Tella plays it into the feet of Schick, who's inside the Freiburg penalty area. With a deft touch, he spins his marker before shooting, but his effort isn't powerful enough to trouble Atubolu.

Wirtz creates a chance from off the left. He plays it to Schick in the middle, who can't get a shot away and lays it off for Tella, but the winger's first touch lets him down and he can't manage to get a shot off either.

Leverkusen break very quickly after they clear the Freiburg corner. Wirtz takes the ball down excellently before threading it through to Tella, who shoots. But, his shot is always rising.

Freiburg clear a Tella cross, but only as far as Wirtz, who strikes a venomous shot on the half-volley with his left boot, but Ginter blocks it behind for a corner. Leverkusen can't make anything from the resulting set piece, though.
