With the 2017/18 Bundesliga season almost over, it's time to honour the players who stood out from the crowd. Joshua Kimmich(Bayern Munich)

A jack-of-all-trades, the young Germany international has — as expected — become the master of one, settling snugly into the void left by Philipp Lahm. "Philipp who?" you say? Well, OK, not quite yet, but Kimmich has definitively shown this season that club and country have not misplaced their hopes in him.

Lukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund)

With performances of a consistently high quality matched only by the long-standing excellence of the Signal Iduna Park currywurst, the Poland international was just as happy to sign a recent contract extension as Borussia Dortmund were to have secured the services of one of the league's premier right-backs. And to think he used to be a winger?

Benjamin Henrichs (Bayer Leverkusen)

The full-backs have a crucial role in the Leverkusen set-up, and Henrichs has played his brilliantly. The young defender's vivacity on the flank chimes harmoniously with the attacking talents placed ahead of him, such as Julian Brandt and Leon Bailey, giving Heiko Herrlich's line-up pace and creativity in wide positions.
