Naby Keita, RB Leipzig

Though next summer's move to Liverpool was wrapped up before the season began, Keita's form did not suffer. The Guinea international was again a powerful figure at the hub of Leipzig's season, as effective at winning possession as using it intelligently. He will be sorely missed.

Leon Goretzka, Schalke

Another player with transfer talk to resolve, Goretzka's form did drop slightly after the announcement of his impending departure for Bayern Munich. But for all the ire Schalke fans have directed at their homegrown über-talent, they will no doubt acknowledge one of the club's best seasons in recent memory owes a great deal to their young midfielder.

Shinji Kagawa, Borussia Dortmund

The Japan international will go down as one of Dortmund's all-time greats after adding yet another virtuoso season for Die Schwarzgelben to his collection. Industry and inspiration personified, Kagawa's form helped give the team the creative spark it needed when Marco Reus was sidelined.
