It has so far been a campaign to remember for Austria Under-21 international Stefan Posch, who made his Hoffenheim senior bow prior to a first Bundesliga appearance earlier in the season.
Growing in confidence as the season has progressed, the 20-year-old impressed in the final month of 2017 when, in three German top-flight starts, the Sinsheimers won twice, keeping clean sheets on both occasions. Central defender Posch was part of a three-man backline when Julian Nagelsmann’s side defeated last season’s attack specialists RB Leizpig by 4-0, his closing of spaces and versatility proving particularly impressive.
"I'm happy with my performance and the confidence it helped me to gain,” Posch noted after his seventh appearance of the season. “We put in a great game and fought for each other as a team,” the Kraubarth-native added.
Posch rose through the ranks at Hoffenheim following a move to Germany from Austrian outfit Admira Wacker and has proved particularly adept when coming in to replace regular Kevin Vogt. Having featured in 13 games in all competitions thus far for last season’s fourth-place finishers, the calm and assured Posch already appears destined for an impressive career.
