Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left Borussia Dortmund to join English Premier League side Arsenal.

The 28-year-old has lit up the Bundesliga in the four-and-a-half years since joining from Saint-Etienne, and departs still sitting second in this season's scoring charts, having notched 13 goals.

“Despite what happened in recent weeks we’d like to remember Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s story at BVB,” said sporting director Michael Zorc. “He was a success story for four years, scoring many important goals, and was part of the team that brought the DFB Cup to Dortmund in 2017. We wish Pierre-Emerick all the best for his future at Arsenal.”

In total, Aubameyang notched 98 Bundesliga goals during his time in Germany, averaging over 20 goals a season.

Having hit a hat-trick on his top-flight debut in Augsburg in August 2013, announcing himself as a goalscorer to be feared, Aubameyang went on to win the Torjägerkanone, Germany's prize for top scorer, in the 2016/17 season, finishing the campaign with 31 goals. That same year, 'Auba' also helped BVB to win the DFB Cup, the only trophy he lifted during his time in North Rhine-Westphalia.

While Aubameyang's departure is a blow for Peter Stöger's side, Dortmund can still boast an embarrassment of attacking riches, with Christian Pulisic, Marco Reus, Mario Götze, Andre Schürrle, Shinji Kagawa, Maximilian Philipp, Andrey Yarmolenko, Jadon Sancho and Alexander Isak all ready to fill his goalscoring boots.
