Borussia Dortmund have travelled to Berlin for their Matchday 19 clash against Hertha without leading goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 28-year-old missed Die Schwarzgelben's goalless draw with Wolfsburg last weekend on disciplinary grounds and has been the subject of intense transfer speculation ever since.

"He's in Dortmund training," explained Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc of the Gabon striker's omission from the squad. "We feel that he's not 100 per cent with it mentally at the moment. So it became a question of whether or not he could help us in Berlin. It's a difficult situation."

Aubameyang was the Bundesliga's top scorer last season with 31 goals, and has struck 13 times in 15 top-flight outings so far this term. Tellingly, BVB have only picked up two points and scored three goals in the three games without him.

With his leading marksman ruled out, Dortmund head coach Peter Stöger might be tempted to stick with teen strike duo Jadon Sancho (17) and Alexander Isak (18), who made their full Bundesliga debuts against Wolfsburg on Matchday 18.
