- Frankfurt sign Varela on season-long loan.
- Made 11 appearances for Man United last season.
- Could make debut against Wehen Wiesbaden on Saturday.
Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela on a season-long loan deal.
The 23-year-old right-back, who made eleven appearances for his parent club last season after spending the 2014/15 campaign on loan at Real Madrid Castilla, will wear the No.3 shirt.
"Guillermo Varela is a very talented young player who has already shown what he can do at two massive clubs," said Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner. "We're in no doubt that he'll add competition to the team, especially in his preferred position on the right-hand side of defence."
Frankfurt fans might not have long to wait to see Varela in action, with the Montevideo-born defender in line to face 3.Liga outfit SV Wehen Wiesbaden in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm looking forward to playing for Frankfurt," he said. "I've already seen a few Bundesliga games on the television and was really impressed by the atmosphere among the fans."
