Sightseeing trip for Mainz in Colorado

1. FSV Mainz 05's players were able to sample some of the sights and sounds of Colorado as they enjoyed an evening off on their pre-season tour to the USA.

After two tough friendly wins against Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Mexican side Universidad de Guadalajara, the players were rewarded with a day off on Thursday, and they made sure to make it count.

The day began with a friendly game of basketball at the local Air Force Academy, before an autograph session for local supporters and an outdoor excursion to the 'Garden of the Gods', a stunningly beautiful public park in nearby Colorado Springs.

The day was then rounded off with a visit to a local rodeo.

Martin Schmidt's men return home on Saturday 16 July, where they will resume preparation for the new season and their trip to Borussia Dortmund on Bundesliga Matchday 1.
