RB Leipzig have bolstered their squad with the signing of Germany Under-21 international Timo Werner from VfB Stuttgart.

The 20-year-old, who played 95 top-flight games for Stuttgart, has signed a four-year contract with the newly-promoted Bundesliga side, last season's Bundesliga 2 runners-up.

"Despite his youth, Timo Werner has a lot of Bundesliga experience, and has already proven his quality at that level," said Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick, who guided the club to a first-ever top-flight berth as coach last season. "He’s a very ambitious player, who's always looking to improve and can pose any opponent problems with his pace. His addition will give our attack yet more quality and more options.“
