Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the decisive penalty as Gabon secured a shoot-out victory over Mozambique to book their place in the group stages of African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2018 on Saturday night.

The visitors, who had won the first leg 1-0, fell behind in the second minute when Aubameyang set up Malick Evouna to stroke home, but no further goals followed in 120 minutes of tense action. With the score poised at 3-3 in the shoot-out, the 26-year-old coolly put his spot-kick into the top left corner to win the match for the Panthers.

Aubameyang, who has scored 14 Bundesliga goals this season, missed the first leg of the tie through injury.
