Having joined Wolfsburg from Arsenal this summer, English teenager Kaylen Hinds has been in electric form during pre-season and is finding his feet in Germany ahead of the start of the season.

He hadn't made a senior appearance for Arsenal, and played in the fourth tier of English football last season, but Hinds looks set to play an important role for Wolfsburg having made a bright impression in Germany so far.

In his five pre-season appearances, the 19-year-old has bagged three goals, the third of which was a particularly outstanding finish in the Wolves’ 4-2 win over Bundesliga 2 side Dynamo Dresden on 22 July.

“As a young player I can get good experience in the Bundesliga,” said Hinds. “I think playing in a different country, in a different style will improve my game. It will be good experience for me.”

Hinds, who has been playing alongside Mario Gomez over the summer, is excited to be able to learn from the legendary striker.

“Gomez is a big player. I’m learning off him and hopefully one day I’ll be like him.”

Hinds spent time with Andries Jonker when the pair where at the Arsenal youth academy - as player and director respectively - and the Dutch coach convinced Hinds that the Bundesliga would be the right place for him to develop.

“At Arsenal he always had my back, he’s always looked on improving me. Coming here and working with him is a good thing for me,” said Hinds.

Wolfsburg begin the Bundesliga season hosting Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, August 19th.
