History was made at the Supercup 2017 encounter between FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund as Video Assist was used for the first time in a competitive game in Germany.

Video Assist is being brought in to serve as further support to the referee on the pitch. They will be used in just four match situations, which are laid out below.
