Hertha Berlin's USMNT defender Anthony Brooks suffers injury blow
Hertha Berlin have been rocked by the news that central defender John Anthony Brooks has suffered a hip injury, which could see him miss the season run-in.
The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Matchday 30's 1-0 win at home to VfL Wolfsburg, but a medical examination on Monday revealed he had strained a muscle in his hip. Coach Pal Dardai must therefore do without him for the weekend trip to in-form SV Werder Bremen.
The club hope to have the 26-time USA international back for Matchday 32, although have not yet put a timeframe on Brooks' recovery.
Born in Berlin to an American father and a German mother, Brooks has been at the club since joining them from local outfit Hertha Zehlendorf in 2007.
