It is not often that one of the biggest matches of the season takes place on the opening weekend, but this year's Bundesliga schedule has thrown up a mouth-watering Matchday 1 encounter - the Rhine derby between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Cologne.
As one of Germany's fiercest derbies, meetings between the Foals and Billy Goats are a genuine season highlight for all Bundesliga fans.
Last year, the fixture produced two classic encounters that are unlikely to be forgotten in a hurry - especially after the away team won each clash in dramatic fashion.
Watch: Marcel Risse's Goal of the Season contender
Marcel Risse's stunning free-kick in injury time broke Gladbach hearts in November, before Borussia captain Lars Stindl avenged that last-gasp reverse, scoring late on to clinch an enthralling 2-3 win for Dieter Hecking's side on Matchday 28.
Watch: Cologne 2-3 Borussia Mönchengladbach
It is, however, the first time since 2003 that the teams have been paired together on the opening matchday of a Bundesliga season.
Hosts Gladbach took the derby spoils on that particular occasion, thanks to a second-half own goal from Cologne's Matthias Scherz. A textbook case of Schadenfreude for fans of a Borussia persuasion.
The action begins on 18 August. Be there, or be square!
