Hertha Berlin star Kalou ruled out of Stuttgart clash

Hertha Berlin's leading goalscorer Salomon Kalou will miss Saturday's clash at VfB Stuttgart due to injury.

The 30-year-old Cote d'Ivoire international striker picked up a thigh strain in the Old Lady's 3-2 DFB Cup quarter-final win over Bundesliga 2 outfit 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 on Wednesday, and has returned home to Berlin.

Leading light

Kalou has been integral to Hertha's stellar domestic campaign in 2015/16, scoring 10 goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances and three in the DFB Cup.

Hertha are currently third in the Bundesliga and also have a DFB Cup semi-final showdown with Borussia Dortmund to look forward to - the winners of which will play either FC Bayern München or SV Werder Bremen in the final in Berlin on 21 May.
