Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez says he hopes to be back in action in roughly a fortnight's time following successful surgery on his broken right hand.

The 28-year-old Mexico international, who suffered the injury in a fall at his apartment earlier in the week, posted this message to his Instagram and Twitter pages to update fans on his comeback status on Friday:

Looking to build on last season's third-place finish, Leverkusen kick-off their Bundesliga campaign away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening.
