After his side's 1-0 defeat at FC Ingolstadt 04 on Matchday 14, RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl has received positive news on the personnel front this week: right-back Bernardo has returned to first-team training and is a candidate to start against Hertha Berlin this weekend. There remain several defenders on the Leipzig treatment table, though: Marvin Compper, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Lukas Klostermann are all still out.

Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai, who saw his side slump to a 1-0 home defeat to SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 14, also has defensive personnel issues. First-choice centre-back duo John Anthony Brooks and Sebastian Langkamp are both out injured, meaning that Niklas Stark and Fabian Lustenberger will deputise.
