Looking to avenge their DFB Cup 2nd Round loss to 1. FC Köln earlier this season, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have no fresh injury concerns to contend with. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that Kerem Demirbay "cannot play yet", but did mention that it was "looking good" for former Köln player Kevin Vogt, who could return to the starting line-up at the expense of Ermin Bicakcic. Elsewhere, Mark Uth and Eduardo Vargas are in contention for a spot on the right wing of a 3-4-3 set-up.

Köln head coach Peter Stöger has said he's expecting an "open game" against Hoffenheim, but does have a few injury headaches to contend with. Having already lost Matthias Lehmann to injury, holding midfielder Marco Höger now also faces a late push to prove his fitness with Stöger claiming they are taking it "day for day". If that is not possible, youngster Salih Özcan could partner captain Jonas Hector in central midfield.
