SC Freiburg striker Karim Guede, who only made his first appearance of the season on Matchday 9, has been ruled out for a month with knee ligament damage. Florian Niederlechner and Nils Petersen are the most likely candidates to replace him. Centre-back Manuel Gulde is also absent, as are long-term casualties Marc Oliver Kempf and Havard Nielsen.

VfL Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler will miss this one due to an adductor strain, joining Vieirinha, Robin Knoche, Bruno Henrique and Josuha Guilavogui in the treatment room. However, midfielder Daniel Didavi is set to make his comeback from injury, while defender Jeffrey Bruma returns following suspension.
