Germany coach Joachim Löw has confirmed that Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng's fitness will not be risked in Tuesday's friendly match with France in Cologne.
The 29-year-old has been suffering with a muscle injury and did not appear in Die Nationalmannschaft's 0-0 draw with England at Wembley on Friday evening.
Speaking after Friday's match, Löw said: "We wont take any risks with Jerome. He hasn't trained this week. Instead he's had treatment and he'll have more on Saturday and Sunday. He'll return to Munich and won't be available for us against France."
Germany's stalemate at Wembley ended a run of seven straight wins for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winners. The world champions last faced off against France in the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2016, when France prevailed 2-0 in Marseille.
