Big things are beginning to happen for Schalke's Morrocan international Amine Harit, who has been in glowing form for the Royal Blues in his first season in the Bundesliga and has been rewarded by being named TAG Heuer Rookie of the Month for December.
“Maybe I’ll stay for a couple of years or maybe I’ll spend the rest of my career with Schalke."
So said Schalke's rapidly rising star Harit, and if the 20-year-old continues to produce performances like those he managed in December, fans of the Gelsenkirchen-based club will be thrilled to see the France-born player become a lifer at the Veltins Arena.
Watch: Harit scored in Schalke's incredible 4-4 draw with Dortmund!
Signed from French Ligue 1 side Nantes last July, the midfielder has quickly become an important piece of coach Domenico Tedesco’s exciting young side that has risen to challenging for European spots in the Bundesliga. With two goals and six assists thus far in 2017/18, the French-born schemer laid on two goals in Schalke’s dramatic Matchday 16, 3-2 home win against Augsburg.
The European Under-19 Championship winner with France in 2016 also scored his second of the season when The Miners opened December with a 2-2 draw against Cologne, and he was ever-present for Schalke as they closed out 2017 by extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to an incredible 13 games.
Offering an attacking impetus to a much-improved Königsblauen team to that of last season, Harit will be keen to take his solid form into the New Year as he looks to earn a place at this summer’s FIFA World Cup with Morocco.
