Freiburg's Schmid agrees Hoffenheim deal
Sinsheim - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have bolstered their midfield options for the 2015/16 campaign with the signing of Jonathan Schmid from relegated SC Freiburg.
'Ideal Conditions'
The 24-year-old, who scored four Bundesliga goals and chipped in with eight assists in 2014/15, has signed a four-year deal valid until 30 June 2019.
"Jonathan Schmid fits our style of play brilliantly," enthused Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen. "We're really happy to have been able to add to our squad such a dynamic and versatile player, who's also great from set-pieces."
Schmidt already has 118 Bundesliga appearances under his belt following a seven-year spell at Freiburg, where he played a part in a total of 49 league goals. The Frenchman cited "ideal conditions to make the next step in my development" as one of the chief reasons behind the move.
