Sinsheim - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim had some good news to report on the final day of the Bundesliga season as they announced that forward had extended his contract until 2019.

'Hoffenheim are a great club'

The 22-year-old committed to a new deal on the morning of Hoffenheim's final game of the campaign against Hertha Berlin.

Volland's previous contract still had two years left to run on it, but it is a sign of the club's faith in the German Under-21 international, who will be representing his country at the UEFA Under-21 European Championship in the Czech Republic this summer, that they have tied him down on a longer contract.

"My path with Hoffenheim is not over yet," Volland said. "I found it quite amusing recently seeing all the clubs I was being linked with, but now that is over. Hoffenheim are a great club to be at and we've got big plans here." Volland has scored eight goals this season and was set to bring up a century of Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim on Matchday 34.
