Munich - FC Bayern München's injury list is a long one at present, but the German record titleholders were given a boost on Monday as utility man David Alaba, sidelined with knee ligament damage, took a major step on his road to recovery.

The Austrian international, whose cast was signed by team-mates and well-wishers recently, had the protective bandaging removed and took straight to Twitter to share the good news:

Meanwhile, Alaba's team-mates have landed in Portugal ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against FC Porto on Wednesday.
