Cologne - Two of 1. FC Köln's goalscorers admitted to being "a bit lucky" with their goals in the Billy Goats' 3-2 win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Sunday, but they were nonetheless satisfied with a crucial victory in the battle against the drop.

bundesliga.com rounds up the best of the post-match quotes from the RheinEnergieStadion, including Jonas Hector's thoughts on his sensational solo goal...
Jonas Hector: [On his goal] “I think our back-up goalkeeper Thomas Kessler put it pretty well just now when he said that once I'd started I just had to keep going. Of course I was a bit lucky at the end [with the deflection] but that’s part and parcel of the game. Part of my role in my position is to get forward and contribute to attacks. We had the game under control until they made it 2-1 so it was vital that we got another goal. The fact that I scored it with a goal like that makes it all the better. After yesterday’s results we knew we had to perform today and I think we did. Overall it was a very good afternoon for us.”

Matthias Lehmann: “Seeing as we were playing on Sunday, we knew that the other teams around us would have a chance to move ahead, so I think we did pretty well today. We took a while to get into the game but we created some chances and managed to score. Yuya Osako and Kazuki Nagasawa were on fire today, they were really up for it. They were all over the pitch and both of them were really good. With my penalty I initially wanted to place it somewhere else but I changed my mind. In the end I think my foot took the penalty itself! My last few spot-kicks have been a bit higher, which is why I think Oliver Baumann jumped higher to save it. I was a bit lucky, but a goal’s a goal. The win was a small step towards staying up.”

Kevin Volland: “We were too wild at times in the first half. We lost our shape and made things easy for Köln. We had a couple of really good chances at the beginning which we didn’t take advantage of and then they got a penalty. We just need to defend better as a team. We shouldn’t have conceded three goals the way we did here in Köln. Once you go behind you’re always chasing the game and that was decisive today. Our defending as a unit was our biggest shortcoming.”
