Cologne - In-form FC Bayern München winger Arjen Robben has been voted Matchday 22 Player of the Week by bundesliga.com users following his brace at SC Paderborn 07 last Saturday.

Robben’s double against the East Westphalian minnows, who lost 6-0 to the record titleholders at the Benteler-Arena, lifted him above Alexander Meier to the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts and earned him 45 per cent of the weekly post-matchday poll.

Double Dutch

In second place with 32 per cent of the vote was Robben’s fellow countryman Bas Dost, who scored his tenth and eleventh league goals of the campaign in the Wolves’ 2-1 victory over Hertha Berlin on Sunday evening. The Dutchman has now scored eight goals in eight competitive outings for Dieter Hecking’s side - an astonishing achievement considering he had only netted three times in the entire first half of the season.

Last but by no means least, with 23 per cent, was FC Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz, who became only the third-ever Bundesliga keeper to score from open play in die Fuggerstädter’s sensational 2-2 draw with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The 27-year-old custodian volleyed home in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time to salvage a draw for Markus Weinzierl’s charges, who remain two points above die Werkself in the table after Saturday’s pulsating stalemate.
