Hamburg - Borussia Mönchengladbach lifesaver Branimir Hrgota expressed his relief at rescuing a dramatic late point for the Foals away to Hamburger SV, who were understandably frustrated at letting victory slip out of their grasp.

rounds up the post-match reaction from Matchday 22's Imtech Arena encounter...

Branimir Hrgota:

"When I was substituted on the coach said to me: 'Do your best and score a goal!' Fortunately I was able to. I connected well with the header and thankfully it went in. We put a lot of effort into a difficult game against Sevilla [in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday] and it was a difficult game today too, but we created many chances and were able to fight back and get a deserved point in the end. After my goal I had so much adrenaline running through my veins that I just had to let my joy out somehow."

Christoph Kramer:

"We were hoping for more and played well in the first 20 minutes. I don't know if we ran out of steam afterwards but we really should have won here. We weren't very good after the opening period and maybe our minds and bodies weren't fresh enough after playing midweek, but we can't use that as an excuse, especially as we made a lot of changes today."

Max Kruse:

"It’s difficult to keep creating chances for a full 90 minutes, but I thought we did very well to get back into the game. It was important to get players forward in the closing stages to find an equaliser and it was great to see the ball go in. We’ve got a tough match in Europe again [the return leg against Sevilla FC] on Thursday and we hope to be able to overturn the 1-0 deficit."

Hamburger SV

Zoltan Stieber:

"To concede a last-minute goal and lose two points is very disappointing for us, but we’ll have to come back stronger next week. Last weekend [the 8-0 defeat at FC Bayern München] was a very bad day for us and we’ve put a lot into training this week in the knowledge that we have to make up for that performance. We wanted to make things right today and even though we’ve dropped two points, we’ve proven we’re a good team. I had a good pre-season and I’m glad to have been given my chance. We’ve got to show character in the coming games to get out of the position we’re in."

Dennis Diekmeier:

"We fought very well and you could see how much we wanted to win the match. We didn’t concede many chances during the game, so it’s disappointing we weren’t able to hang on in the end."

"Football can be so unfair sometimes!"
