Munich - Holger Badstuber has wasted no time getting back into the swing of training ahead of the Bundesliga season's restart at the end of January.

Hard work the key

While the rest of the squad are not due back at the training ground until

, the 30-time Germany international has been busy since Sunday, undergoing an intensive individual regime with fitness coach Dr. Holger Broich at the German record champions' training compound at Säbener Straße. "The first session after a winter break is always a bit tougher than usual, but it was fun," said the left-footed defender.

Badstuber's road back to something approaching 100 per cent has been a long and arduous one. In the summer, he made his Bundesliga comeback after 20 months out with injury following a ruptured cruciate knee ligament, only to succumb to a thigh tear in Matchday 3's

over VfB Stuttgart. After just three Bundesliga appearances in a little over two years, the 25-year-old is now set to train fully with his team-mates, something he is understandably delighted with. "I can work properly with the lads again and take part in all the exercises. I'm really looking forward to putting in some tough shifts in the next few weeks. "I want to get back to a level of performance that I'd be happy with. [When I made my comeback] I really enjoyed being back in the team after so long out. I want to experience that again."
