Son and Robben take the plaudits

Cologne - Just as expected, it was another Bundesliga weekend full of outstanding goals. One had to come out on top, though, and bundesliga.com users voted overwhelmingly to crown Mario Götze's stunning long-distance opener for FC Bayern München the winner of Matchday 12's Goal of the Week.

Not only did the goal help the Bavarians record a convincing 4-0 success over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, it also garnered 60 per cent of votes in the post-Matchday poll. The 22-year-old's seventh strike of the season was certainly special. Picking up the ball well outside the penalty area, the starlet took one look up before sending a curling shot past a helpless Oliver Baumann and the Allianz Arena faithful into ecstasy.
Following Götze in second place was Heung-Min Son with 17 per cent of the vote. The South Korean star scored Bayer 04 Leverkusen's second in their 3-1 win at Hannover 96, displaying all his class in dancing through the Hannover defence before placing a perfectly-controlled finish into the bottom corner of Ron-Robert Zieler's goal.

In joint third, with 11 percent of the vote each, were Bayern's Arjen Robben and FC Schalke 04's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Bavarians' flying Dutchman chipped brilliantly over Baumann for the league leaders' third against the Sinsheim outfit, while Choupo-Moting's quick feet also drew users' praise in the Royal Blues 3-2 home win over VfL Wolfsburg. The Cameroon international threw two defenders off course before sliding the ball into the net.

Finally, SC Paderborn 07's Lukas Rupp ended with one per cent of the vote after his classy finish from the edge of the box helped Andre Breitenreiter's side to a surprise 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund.
