Hamburg - Bundesliga ever-presents Hamburger SV have secured the services of Tottenham Hotspur FC attacking midfielder Lewis Holtby on a season-long loan deal.

'Want to be playing all the time'

The 23-year-old German international spent the latter half of the 2013/14 campaign at English side Fulham FC, having made his name in Germany with FC Schalke 04, VfL Bochum and 1. FSV Mainz 05.

"I'm a young player and I want to be playing all the time," said Holtby, who scored ten goals in 40 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke between 2011 and 2013. "That's very important for me, for my development and for my career." "He's an excellent passer of the football and his creativity will improve our game," added Hamburg CEO Dietmar Beiersdorfer. "For his young age of 23, he's collected a vast amount of Bundesliga and Premier League experience, as well as a little bit at international level, all of which he'll bring to us." Holtby has made three appearances for Germany, as well as a further 24 for the country's U-21 side and he will link up with fellow new attackers
