Bayern make winning start to Stateside tour
New Jersey - FC Bayern München got their Audi Summer Tour of the States off to a winning start on Thursday night.
Heading in the right direction
The record German champions were given an emphatic reception upon touchdown in the Big Apple and in front of a sell-out crowd of 25,023 spectators in Harrison, New Jersey, they didn't disappoint, seeing off Mexico's C.D. Earlier, Bayern officially opened their new office in New York, on the 21st floor of a building in Lexington Avenue, just a stone's throw away from the Empire State Building, Broadway and Central Park. "New York City is a special place, and we are a special club," said Bayern director Jörg Wacker. "We live in a globalised world in which there is fierce competition, and we felt it was a must to locate ourselves here. This is a special day for us."
Bayern will continue their pre-season preparations and self-promotion in the USA until August 7, when they will face a
Major League Soccer All-Star XI
