Ribery thanks Bayern staff

The current European Footballer of the Year performed running exercises at the champions' Säbener Straße training compound as he continued his recovery from a persistent back injury that ruled him out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

“I’m feeling good, and I’m very happy to be back here again,” Ribery told fcbayern.de. “I still have some catching up to do, and I’ll need a good pre-season with the team. We’ll be ready for a nice season.”

The 31-year-old was joined by Bayern’s rehab trainer Thomas Wilhelmi and physio Helmut Erhard on his holiday to speed up his recovery: “Thanks to both and FC Bayern, it was all very well organised. We had a very good time, it was important they were there.”

Ribery, meanwhile, also took time to congratulate his club-mates on . “I’m very happy for my colleagues, the German national team and all the people that were involved in this success,” he said. “The moment [team captain] Philipp [Lahm] was given the trophy - I enjoyed it so much.”
