Stuttgart - VfB Stuttgart have confirmed the appointment of Armin Veh as their new head coach, with the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss set to take the reins at the Baden-Württemberg side for the second time from 1 July.

'Fond memories'

The 53-year-old, who led Stuttgart to Bundesliga glory in 2007 during a two-and-a-half year spell, put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

“I’ve always had close ties to Stuttgart,” said Veh, who guided Frankfurt to a 13th-place finish in the recently-ended season. “I still have fond memories of my first spell. VfB are a club with a lot of potential, and I'm convinced we can take the club to the next level.”

Stuttgart sporting director Fredi Bobic said of the appointment: “Veh was very enthusiastic about returning to VfB and we’re glad we were able to secure his services. He’s a very experienced coach, a real football expert, and he seems the perfect fit for us.”
