More to come?

Aubameyang is the sixth player in Bundesliga history to net a debut hat-trick. The last player to do so was former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Martin Fenin, who helped down Hertha Berlin in February 2008.

While Fenin only managed a further three goals during that season, Aubameyang has joined a team capable of challenging for major honours and with the likes of Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to create chance for him, the gazelle-like attacker is sure to have plenty of opportunities to add to his Dortmund account.
