Stuttgart - VfB Stuttgart have agreed terms with head coach Bruno Labbadia on an extension of his contract through to 30 June 2015. Assistant coach Eddy Sözer has likewise penned a new two-year deal covering the same timeframe.

"Enthusiasm and enjoyment"

"Bruno Labbadia has done a very good job for VfB Stuttgart over the best part two years," said club president Gerd E. Mäuser. "He took charge of the team under difficult circumstances and has led it through an ongoing process of development, earning a place in Europe last season."

Sporting director Fredi Bobic added that he had "huge faith" in the work of Labbadia and Sözer, who "will continue to pursue their goals towards the club's success as intensively as they have done to date".

Labbadia, 46, commented: "We've followed an intensive path ever since we started out here and we're far from at the end of it yet. We want to deliver a team the VfB fans can get behind with real enthusiasm and enjoyment, as we managed over the back-end of last season. That's what I'm after and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming challenges."
