Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry explains cooking celebration inspired by NBA star James Harden
Serge Gnabry has been cooking up a storm in the Bundesliga over the last four seasons. Every time the Bayern Munich forward scores, he shows off his cooking skills with a trademark celebration, which was inspired by NBA star James Harden.
Speaking to fcbayern.tv, the Germany international has explained how Houston Rockets star Harden influenced the pair’s trademark celebration.
"There's a video on YouTube where he's cooking after dropping, I think, a buzzer-beater and won the game," Gnabry explained. "So he was cooking, stirring it up, and that's the celebration."

Gnabry, 25, is a big basketball fan and regularly watches matches from the USA's league, the NBA.
Having seen Harden in action, Gnabry wanted to produce the cross-sport celebration for himself.
"I think you can relate the celebration to him having a buzzer-beater or winning the game to us, as in football we don’t score as many points as they do in basketball," Gnabry said. "So I think there's a resemblance and he's a very good offensive player, I'm an offensive player so, I think so too."
The former VfB Stuttgart, Arsenal, Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim forward even produced his own personal take on the celebration on the biggest Bundesliga stage, after scoring in Bayern's 5-0 Der Klassiker win over Borussia Dortmund in his first title-winning season in 2018/19.
Gnabry has continued to produce the iconic celebration into present day, and was able to show off his cooking skills on 12 occasions during the 2019/20 Bundesliga season on his way to winning his second Bundesliga title.
