RB Leipzig sign Brazilian left-back Luan Candido from Palmeiras
RB Leipzig have announced the signing of 18-year-old Brazilian left-back Luan Candido from Palmeiras on a five-year deal.
Candido becomes Leipzig's second signing of the upcoming summer transfer window, with the club having already secured the services of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Hannes Wolf.
“We’ve been speaking to him for almost half a year,” Leipzig head coach Ralf Rangnick said. “He can play anywhere on the left side. We’re welcoming a versatile player. I’m very pleased that he has decided to join us.”
Candido has yet to make a first-team appearance for Brazilian side Palmeiras, but has played eight times for the Brazil U20 team, scoring one goal.
The teenager becomes Leipzig's second Brazilian recruit in the space of a year, following in Matheus Cunha’s footsteps – the 19-year-old forward joined from FC Sion in the summer of 2018.
