RB Leipzig extend Kosta Nedeljković loan from Aston Villa
RB Leipzig have extended Kosta Nedeljković’s loan deal from Aston Villa for a further season to cover the 2025/26 campaign.
Nedeljković, 19, initially joined Leipzig on a six-month deal in February 2025 and made 10 Bundesliga appearances, plus one in the DFB Cup semi-final defeat to VfB Stuttgart.
“Kosta quickly settled in at RB Leipzig after his arrival in winter and impressively showed his abilities on the pitch,” said sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
“We see great potential in him, so we’re even happier that he’ll be part of our team again next season. Kosta’s mentality and style of play are an excellent fit for the way we want to play in the new season.”
The right-back added of his decision to stay at the Red Bull Arena: “I’m very happy to get to wear the Leipzig shirt again next season. The club has given me a feeling of trust and belonging since the first day.
“I’ve been able to develop further in recent months, so it’s a big motivation for me to give my all for us to achieve our goals in the new season.”
Nedeljković has seven senior caps for Serbia and has made 10 competitive appearances for parent club Aston Villa since signing from Red Star Belgrade in 2024.
After missing out on Europe last season, Leipzig begin life under new coach Ole Werner away at Sandhausen in the DFB Cup first round on Saturday, 18 August. They then raise the curtain on the Bundesliga campaign in the opening match away at defending champions Bayern Munich the following Friday.
