PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's brother on trial at Bayern Munich
Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's brother, Tornike, is currently training with Bayern Munich, sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed.
Tornike, who is a Georgia youth international and is on the books of 19-time national champions Dinamo Tbilisi, is currently training with the Bayern squad and has even featured in a friendly match in Munich.
Speaking ahead of Bayern's Bundesliga Matchday 33 clash with Wolfsburg, Freund said. "I can confirm that the boy is here, [Khvicha's] brother," he revealed, although he was eager not to put too much pressure on the teenager.
"He's still a young lad, he has talent. Whether he's as good as his brother, who is outstanding, a world-class player, that would be an exaggeration."
The elder Kvaratskhelia, himself a full Georgia international, played a starring role for PSG as they knocked Bayern out of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, netting twice in the semi-final first leg and creating Ousmane Dembélé's ultimately decisive goal early in the second.
It seems he has been a thorn in Bayern's side in more ways than one recently, as revealed by compatriot Budu Zivzivadze. The striker scored twice in the Bundesliga's champions' 3-3 draw with Heidenheim and said that he spoke to Kvaratskhelia beforehand.
"I spoke to him and he taught me some tricks. Today, fortunately, it happened. I also scored two goals against Munich," he said.
