Bundesliga Man of the Match awards get bigger in second season
You can get voting again as the popular Man of the Match award is back for a second season in 2026/27 - and has gained a high-profile partner with adidas.
Fans will continue to decide which player wins the vote – and will receive the new Man of the Match award after the final whistle.
How does the Man of the Match vote work?
For all Bundesliga matches this season, fans can vote for their favourite player in the respective live blog on the official Bundesliga app. Voting starts as usual in the 86th minute of each match and ends with the final whistle – then the official Man of the Match is determined.
We don't just want your votes in the Bundesliga - voting will also be held during the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and the Bundesliga relegation play-off.
Who makes the Man of the Match short list?
Based on official match data, six players who have particularly impressed are nominated. The fans alone decide who ultimately wins.
New: adidas presents the Man of the Match award
For the new season, the process is being updated. Bundesliga partner adidas will now present the award, and each winner will be presented with their own Man of the Match trophy immediately after the final whistle.
The first award for the 2026/27 season will be presented this coming Saturday at the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
