DERBYSTAR presents the Official Match Ball of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 for the 2024/25 season
DERBYSTAR has unveiled the Official Match Ball for the 2024/25 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 seasons, celebrating goals and emotions.
In the past 2023/24 season, an average of 3.2 goals were scored per Bundesliga match. Since the 2018/19 season, when the DERBYSTAR Bundesliga Brillant APS was used for the first time as the official Bundesliga match ball, more than 900 goals have been scored in all seasons, which corresponds to an average of more than three goals per match.
"Football is a results-driven sport that is measurable by goals. It’s because of these goals and the emotions they evoke that we visit the stadiums and arenas of our favorite clubs or watch the games on screens. Every fan will have their own favorite Bundesliga goal in mind. The new DERBYSTAR Bundesliga Brillant APS symbolically captures the goal theme with typical celebration poses on the twelve colored pentagons," says Joachim Böhmer, COO of DERBYSTAR.
DERBYSTAR CEO Peter Knap adds: "The Bundesliga sets international standards in terms of the number of goals scored. With the new design, we pay tribute to the goal scorers who enthuse us fans with their goals. At the same time, the cheers that erupt when a goal is scored also symbolize the positive emotions that we regularly experience in popular sports. This is where we bridge the gap between professional and amateur football. We can’t wait to see the new ball in action in the Bundesliga and Bun-
desliga 2, but also on sports and football fields across Germany."

In terms of details, the sporting goods manufacturer from the Lower Rhine region that is part of SELECT Sport Group once again kept the 20 hexagons of the traditional 32-piece ball construction in bright white, but they are visually linked to the twelve light-blue pentagons by dynamic and eye-catching color highlights. As in the previous season, an emphasis was placed on using ecologically sustainable materials in the making of the ball, hence the underlay of the match ball’s upper material is made from 100% recycled polyester.
Apart from the official match ball and the neon-orange high-visibility version for poor visibility, DERBYSTAR’s new Bundesliga ball collection also includes other match, training and leisure balls in adapted designs. The Official Match Balls can be pre-ordered via DERBYSTAR's official website, here. All balls will be ready for shipping starting 1 June 2024.
