Chema Andrés joins Brighton from VfB Stuttgart

Spanish under-21 international midfielder Chema Andrés has joined Brighton from VfB Stuttgart on a permanent basis.

The former Real Madrid talent has joined the Premier League side on a five-year deal.

"Thanks in part to him, we were able to qualify for the Champions League and reach the cup final," said sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth. "We thank Chema for his time with us and wish him every success in England."

Chema joined Stuttgart last summer from Madrid and played 41 games, including a brief cameo in Stuttgart’s 5-1 loss in their season opener against Bayern Munich at the weekend. During his time at the club, the Spaniard scored four goals.

Stuttgart’s next game is against Cologne on Friday evening.
