Borussia Mönchengladbach seal Nicolas Kühn loan

Borussia Mönchengladbach have sealed the loan signing of Nicolas Kühn from Como, the club have confirmed.

The 26-year-old will spend the remainder of the 2026/27 campaign with the Foals and will wear the No. 19 shirt during his time at ista-Borussia-Park.

Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder said, "We’ve always said that we want to make a move if another exciting opportunity arises for a player who can immediately strengthen our squad. Nicolas is left-footed, versatile in attack, fast, can handle one-on-one situations, and is also a goal threat. He has demonstrated all of this, not least on the international stage. That’s why we’re very pleased that this opportunity to bring him in on loan arose towards the end of the transfer window."

Meanwhile, Kühn said, "I had very good talks with the management, so it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to take this step. Borussia is an ambitious and cool club. Accordingly, I'm really looking forward to the fans and the stadium. Generally speaking, it has always been my goal to play in the Bundesliga, and I'm very happy that it's now becoming a reality.”

Kühn, who started out at Hannover, played for RB Leipzig and Ajax's youth teams before spending two campaigns as part of Bayern Munich II, where he won the 3. Liga title. His first taste of top-tier football came at Rapid Wien in Austria before shining at Celtic, netting 24 goals in 69 games. At Como, he struck once in 25 outings in 2025/26.

The forward is Gladbach's 11th signing of the summer transfer window. So far this term, Borussia have beaten Schott Mainz 5-0 in the DFB Cup first round before losing 3-0 to Leipzig on the opening day of the Bundesliga season. Kühn, meanwhile, could make his debut for his new club when they host Elversberg on Saturday.
