Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed the signing of Hugo Bolin from Swedish outfit Malmö on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Included within the deal for Bolin is an ‘option to buy’ clause.

Upon the announcement of the Swede's arrival, Gladbach's head of sports Rouven Schröder said: "Hugo is a very interesting, creative and attack-minded player with plenty of potential who gives us more options in attack."

Bolin’s arrival should bolster the attacking options at Eugen Polanski’s disposal. The 22-year-old is a versatile, creative forward who is capable of being deployed on either wing or through the middle in the No.10 role.

A two-time Swedish champion and one-time domestic cup winner with Malmö, Bolin has netted 19 goals in 103 total appearances across all competitions for the Swedish giants. Additionally, during loan spells at BK Olympic and Degefors IF, the youngster recorded eight goals in 29 appearances and one goal in nine, respectively.

A full-capped Sweden international (two caps), Bolin made his bow back in October 2024, coming on as a substitute late on as Sweden strolled to a 3-0 away victory over Estonia in the UEFA Nations League group stage. At youth level, he produced four goals in five appearances for the U21 side.

Bolin could make his debut on Saturday, when Gladbach welcome Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 21 of the Bundesliga campaign. His new team are currently 12th in the table, without a win in their last four games.
