As part of this long-term collaboration, starting in August 2025, 20 U18 players will live and train in Mönchengladbach each year, developing their skills under professional conditions.

This partnership is a key component of Borussia Mönchengladbach’s long-term internationalisation strategy, with the U.S. market playing a significant role. “Youth development is an essential pillar of our sustainable market entry in the U.S.,” emphasises Guido Uhle, authorised representative of Borussia Mönchengladbach. “Beyond developing young talent, this partnership offers strategic opportunities to establish our brand, expand partnerships, and strengthen our connection with fans and the soccer market in the U.S.”

International Soccer Academy brings extensive experience in identifying and developing talented U.S. players. Through its proven scouting process, ISA nurtures young prospects who are then further developed in collaboration with top European clubs. Roland Virkus, managing director of sport at Borussia Mönchengladbach, highlights the program’s holistic approach: “Living and training at Borussia Mönchengladbach not only gives these young players the opportunity to learn from one of the most competitive soccer cultures but also allows them to grow personally. Our goal is to develop them into independent, well-rounded individuals who are ready to embrace challenges both on and off the field.”

International Soccer Academy also emphasises the significance of this collaboration. “This partnership offers talented U.S. players a unique opportunity to develop in a professional environment,” says Diane Scavuzzo, co-founder of the International Soccer Academy. Fellow co-founder Eddie Loewen adds: “Our new Residential Academy Team will support the players both athletically and personally, preparing them optimally for the demands of German football.”
